Accommodating the Needs of the Community
East Bergholt Community Land Trust was created because of the need for affordable housing within East Bergholt. Houses in our Parish have become unaffordable for many members of our community. Families, children of residents and key workers who want to live locally are now in no position to do so. Our ambition is to create small-scale, locally led developments. By creating affordable homes for those who would otherwise be forced to leave our community, we can preserve the vibrancy and character of East Bergholt.

Purpose
The primary purpose of the Community Land Trust is to specify and develop affordable homes for local people who need them.
Consultation
Everything we do is led by the needs of the local community. We will always provide a forum for views to be heard.
Building a sustainable future
We aim to create projects that minimise their environmental impacts, provide flexible space for changing needs and compliment existing village housing. As a CLT, we aim to create a portfolio of properties that are owned and governed by the people of East Bergholt. CLTs are in a unique position to be inclusive and creative, build for the long term and meet local need. In doing so, we can write the next chapter of sustainable development.
